Freel Peak

Location: Near South Lake Tahoe. A Tahoe-Seven Summit.
Summit: 10, 881 ft. Eldorado National Forest. Highest point of the Lake Tahoe area. Best time of year: July to October. Moderate to strenuous. Open and shaded country. Home to some of the Lake Tahoe Basin’s only above the tree line, alpine flora.

Summit: 9,150 ft. Accessible by off-road vehicle. The original Carson Emigrant Ridge Road replaced by Hwy. 50. Access to Tahoe Rim Trail at Spooner Summit.

Twin Peaks

Location: Barker Pass, above Blackwood Canyon and between Ward Creek Canyon and Blackwood Canyon. A Tahoe-Seven Summit.
Summit: 8,878 ft.  Hiker-equestrian trail bridge across Ward Creek. Accessible to hikers, bikers, and skiers. Trail meets Tahoe Rim Trail.
